It's a lifesaver!
The PowerCore is practically weightless, so you can carry it anywhere in your purse or pocket. If you're looking for a powerful charger for all your devices, this isn't it. But it's a lifesaver at what it was designed for. My phone often goes dead when I'm away from my main charger. The last time that happened, the PowerCore gave it enough juice in just 10 minutes to make a couple of calls. It takes about an hour for a full charge. At that point, you'll have to charge the PowerCore. I also tried using it with my tablet. It only has enough power to bring the tablet up to 30%. But again, if your device is dead, this will give you enough power to send a few messages and check a few websites.

Great Little Smartphone Charger
I must preface my review of this product by explaining my purpose in purchasing it. After traveling to Asia for over 50 years, I can no longer carry tons of luggage. In celebration of my seniority of 70 years, I am making my next two-month trip with just a small Marmot backpack and an Eagle Creek Load Hauler Expandable duffel. Both packs qualify as carry-ons, which also means no waiting at baggage carousels and no lost bags! Packing weight and compactness is my primary motivation for anything I take on the next trip. I have a three-year-old Anker Astro E7 26,800 mAh charger, which works great but weighs a tenth of an ounce under one pound. One extra pound is too much for this trip, so I chose the Anker PowerCore+ Mini 3350 mAh lipstick charger, which weighs around three ounces. I started charging my iPhone X at 9 AM, which was indicating the handset was down to 14% charge. I used a genuine Apple USB - Lightning cable. Two hours later, the iPhone X was up to 86% charge and the PowerCore+ went from solid red lights to flashing red lights, indicating the PowerCore+ was about dead at 5%. At 11:03 AM the PowerCore+ Mini 3350 indicator lights stopped, indicating that charging had stopped. The PowerCore+ Mini 3350 was depleted and the iPhone X was at 89% charge. By my calculations, the PowerCore+ Mini 3350 was overrated by a considerable amount of power. I only got 2,417 mAh of power from an Anker product rated at 3,350 mAh! Hmmm, 75% charge. This was only the second full charge on the phone X and the first time the PowerCore+ Mini 3350 was used to charge anything. But wait! Perhaps my test was flawed. Is it possible from the time the PowerCore+ Mini 3350 was manufactured, initially charged and shipped, it had lost considerable power before I used it? Did the manufacturer fully charge the PowerCore+ ? I pulled out my iPhone 6S Plus that has a battery rating of 2,915 mAh. After charging my PowerCore+ Mini 3350 back up to 100%, I then connected it to the iPhone 6S Plus at 4:13 PM. Two hours later, at 6:15 PM the handset was at 88% charge, and the indicator light on the PowerCore+ was still yellow. 6:29 PM 91%. 6:46 PM 94%. At 7:01 PM, the red indicator light on the PowerCore+ came on with the charge on the iPhone 6S Plus registering 96%. At 7:45 PM, the handset was fully charged. About the same time, the PowerCore+ red light turned off, indicating its internal battery was depleted. I think I can say that you will get at least one full charge from a handset that has at least 14% charge left. More important, many people on Amazon and other sites leave poor reviews based on flawed testing. I was looking for a charger that would provide me with one full charge after my handset’s battery was almost depleted. The PowerCore+ delivered, so it gets full marks. Lessons learned; pack light and fully charge!

Anker hit a home run!
I bought a couple of these a while ago and now I'm picking up a couple more as gifts. Anyone who has a smartphone should have one. I was thinking of ideas to protect these from water and debris in my pocket or backpack. The simplest idea I came up with was to pickup some rubber chair tips at the hardware. Size 7/8 to 1 inch. They fit perfectly and do a good job of protecting them. Anker hit a home run with this product. Five stars.

UPDATED — Replaced! Replacement works great. (Old title: Did not even charge my 50% of my phone's battery)
I had fully charged the Anker PowerCore+ Mini as instructed and put it in its cute little tie-bag before putting it into my backpack. I have long days on campus and can't always find an outlet to charge my phone when I need it. Today, about a week later from the initial full charge, my iPhone 6s died and I remembered I had the Anker with me. I plugged it in, and after a few moments, my phone restarted again and began charging. Everything was working the way I had hoped it would work... except that when my phone charged to about 40%, the Anker displayed its red flashing light and my phone was no longer charging. This thing can't even charge 50% of my iPhone's battery?? Very disappointed in the results, it did not meet expectations. ***Update: Anker reached out to me and replaced my PowerCore+ mini at no cost, and the replacement worked as promised. I have updated my review with a positive rating now to reflect the service as well as the product itself. Very pleased and have been glad to have this available. I have since graduated and now I carry two PowerCore+ mini with me when I go hiking.

The Big Mini
I bought the Anker Powercore+ Mini to use on backpacking trips because of its size, weight and reputation for quality. Out of the box, a green light from the level of charge indicator indicated the charger was 50% - 100% charged. When I connected it to a switched on iPhone 5s with the battery at 15%, almost immediately the power level light of the charger changed to orange, indicating a charge of 20% - 50% remaining. This did not alarm me though since I had not charged it first, and figured it was not holding a full charge from the factory. I allowed the phone to charge until the level of charge indicator light of the Anker went to a blinking red, indicating a charge level of 0% - 5% remaining. The phone battery was now at 75%, a 400% increase in battery level with a charger that was approximately only 50% charged. I thought this pretty good, but wanted to perform a 15% - 100% phone charge with the Powercore+ fully charged for a more robust test. So after fully charging the Powercore+ Mini, I once again connected to the same switched on iPhone 5s with the battery at 15%. I allowed the phone to charge until the battery was 100% charged. The fact the phone received a full charge of 100% from the Anker charger really pleased me. However what really surprised and excited me was the Powercore+ Mini charger was still indicating a 50% - 100% charge with a green light. This should allow me to get another significant charge from the remaining power left in the charger. To me this is exceptional performance for a charger of this size, specifications, and cost. I’m very pleased with my purchase of this charger! I’m optimistic it will serve me well.

Reliable Tech Essential
I absolutely trust this charger. With a surplus of portable chargers on the market, it's difficult to identify and separate the good from the junk. I've tried over 8 different ones and can't say enough about this extremely reliable, user friendly, and ergonomically distinct product that can fit in your pocket. Of course, it's not going to pack the punch of a big bulky charger but that's not the point of this little guy and even given the small size, it can't be beat. I would argue it's an absolute necessity in this era where phone utilization/battery drainage is a daily occurrence. Also, I'd reccomend purchasing some 6-12 inch cables made by ZiBay (via Amazon) so you don't have to carry around a 3 ft. long charger cable with your 4 inch charger. Just throwing that out there. Anyways, I hope the photos help and let me know if you have any questions.

Easy to use
Bought this ahead of a recent trip and was glad I had it. I had debated between this one and one of the bigger ones but the smaller one worked fine and was easy to carry around in a coat pocket. Note that the charge speed is pretty fast up to about 75% then seems to slow from there, but served its intended role of getting me out of the red zone and back to high power quickly well. Worked as hoped and price was right. The carrying bag is nice to keep everything together. As noted, it is heavier than you might think given size; not a problem, but something to know so you aren't surprised.

Great little power bank!
I purchased several of these as gifts for my office staff. Each of them are still in use, and each of those co-workers are still quite happy with them. The finish is nice on them, and the indicator led switches colors to let you know how much juice is left in the battery. Green is charged, yellow is semi-charged, and red is nearly or depleted. It also starts to flash red once it's about to be completely drained. It charges quickly, and it holds the charge for quite some time.

Quality versatile charger bargain! Must have
This is my first review and it's because I seriously like this product. The quality and functionality of the PowerCore plus mini is only exceeded by its bargain price. I'm not new to Anker products, they always seem to live up to or surpass my expectations. This little guy is no different. I get at least 2 full charges on my iPhone 5s from the charger from 5% or so to 100%. I take it in my bag or in the car and plug in to get me back up to a full charge on the go. I'm not tethered to a wall/car charger and get a charge just as fast as if I was. It intelligently charges your device as fast as your device allows which is great because over charging or rapid charging batteries can seriously shorten their lifespan. The size of the charger is a cylindrical tube 3.75 inches long by 0.8 inches in diameter. It has an aluminum body that feels robust and well-made. It's coated with a matte black powder coat finish. My unit came with a black mesh bag w/drawstring and a USB to micro-USB 24 inch long (23.5 inch of useable length) charging cable. The mini charger has a micro USB input port and a regular USB output port. Just push the LED status button to see Green (50-100%) indicator light, Yellow (25-49%), or Red (below 24%) to see the level of charge of the unit or to activate the unit to send power to the device you want to charge. The indicator light stays on and shows its capacity of charge remaining while charging. It's very easy to understand and use. The mini is small and light weight enough that I've taken it camping/backpacking too. I plug it into wall power before I leave and I'm good for a full charge anywhere in the field when I need it. I've got a rechargeable headlamp that plugs right into the USB of the mini and charges during the day inside my pack when I'm not using it. Same for my GPS, I plug its cable in to the mini charger and it lights right up for use- any power that isn't running the GPS gets funneled back to the NiMH batteries in it and it slowly charges. This is a great feeling to know that I'm not going to run out of battery power on the devices I need and use daily whether in the field or around the city. I recharge my PowerCore plus mini with the dual port Anker PowerPort Solar 21W solar charger at the same time as my phone if I'm out for a couple days or more which lets me recharge at night or on the move. I've begun researching the 800 mile Arizona Trail that spans the North/South distance of my state from Mexico to Utah and will be using a battery powered personal satellite transmitter to let my family and friends track my position via the web and let's me have access to emergency responders if I get into a life and death situation. All these devices would require literally pounds worth of spare batteries where this system mere ounces. The fact that I can keep power to all my stuff when I might be days away from civilization is amazing but even more incredible when I can do it with a lightweight, affordable, and reliable piece of gear like the PowerCore Plus Mini. Maybe power in the field isn't important to you but tell me your phone has never run out when you need it most! I know mine has. This gives that peace of mind that is well worth $10. I'm considering upgrading to the Anker 5000mAh version portable charger to go further between charges but have been more than impressed by the quality/ease of use to price ratio of the Anker PowerCore plus mini. I highly recommend it, you will use it often and I don't want to be caught without it. Thanks Anker for making great, reliable, high quality, and affordable products! Keep it up and I'm a customer for life.

Help! My Phone has 15% charge!
The proof of these things is in how they perform and that takes time and some trips. So this review will focus on how this LOOKS. It is about the same size as a roll of Nickels. Everything is packed inside a solid aluminum case. The north end is sealed. The south end has USB ports for charging. There’s a button which is also a tri-color LED that provides charging information. Keep in mind this LED will use juice. Everything is nicely finished. Future posts will focus on performance. So far the initial charge and charging an iPhone worked as advertised. ANY of these Chargers should do all the following: Charge up. Charge your Phone. Hold a charge long enough to work as intended. Not malfunction or burn. Do it 500 times. Really not much to ask in 2018. Future posts will cover my real world results. March 8, 2018. A report after two cruises. This thing works! Without writing a technical report like The Lone Consumerist, I will say you can charge it and then use it to charge your phone. Use the short cable provided to charge it. Push the little button to turn it on! I see where Anker is offering a two fer short cable for iPhone charging! Excellent! Get them. Shorter is better. So far so good. It works as advertised. Something you don’t get much anymore.
